College coaches open up on balancing motherhood and careers: ‘Don’t limit your dreams’

Oklahoma State women’s basketball coach Jacie Hoyt was at breakfast, recruiting guard Macey Huard last spring, when her phone lit up and her doctor’s name flashed across the screen. 

She knew why they were calling. 

Hoyt and her husband, Daniel Heflin, had been struggling with infertility for almost five years.

She had already done a few rounds of in vitro fertilization, but they were unsuccessful.
