Former Raiders star Hunter Renfrow shades retirement rumor

Hunter Renfrow isn’t ready to hang up his cleats just yet, even if the internet seemingly decided had already retired on Wednesday.

The former Raiders wide receiver shot down rumors that he had announced his retirement in a post on social media after the alleged news had made its way around social media.

“Just when I thought about making a comeback I get hit with this bombshell…… guess I shouldn’t have started working out again 2 months ago lol,” Renfrow wrote accompanying a post that indicated that the ex-Raider had retired.

Renfrow had played his entire NFL career with the Raiders after the organization selected him in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, but was released in March 2024.

He did not play during the 2024 season but could find himself in demand in 2025.

He seemingly hinted in his post at being prepared if teams come calling.

After spending four years at Clemson, Renfrow began his NFL career with three straight seasons of 500 or more receiving yards and had his first 1,000-plus yard season in 2021.

That year he recorded nine touchdown catches as well.

He was limited due to injuries during the 2022 season and he had a career-worst 25 catches for 255 yards and no touchdowns in 2023, which was his final in a Raider uniform.
