He’s going full-court press to sell this ultra-luxury Brooklyn home.
Former Brooklyn Nets point guard Ben Simmons’ Dumbo condo is on sale for nearly $17 million. The 28-year-old is on his way to the Los Angeles Clippers after a contract buyout with the Brooklyn Nets last month, and he’s ready to part with his five-bedroom home.
The Wall Street Journal first reported the listing.
The Australian-born Simmons bought and combined two units in 2023 for $14 million, according to the Journal. The combination condo is located in the Olympia Dumbo tower, a 33-story, ultra-exclusive tower beside the Brooklyn Bridge.
The home spans 5,261 square feet across the building’s 21st floor. “It’s so big, he could probably play basketball in the apartment,” an insider on the deal told The Post when it was purchased.
Despite three unhappy seasons at the Nets, it appears Simmons made himself a happy home in the exclusive Olympia Building.
Listing photos show signs of Simmons’ time there, like a bedroom-turned-home gym, a floor-to-ceiling acrylic display case filled with Simmons’ collection of vinyl bear statues and a dedicated shoe closet.
Simmons gave a tour of his home to Esquire Australia in the fall of 2023, in which he showed off his All-Star rings and tiger head-patterned Gucci wallpaper.
The listing, held by Monica Novo at Douglas Elliman, also includes five bathrooms and two half bathrooms. The home boasts an open chef’s kitchen, a wet bar, heated floors, and an entertainment and guest wing with a home theater.
The real draw, though, is the condo’s 322-square-foot wraparound terrace with views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty.
Since it opened its doors in early 2023, the Olympia has drawn the rich and famous across the East River. It attracted the interest of tennis star Naomi Osaka, as well as actor Michael B. Jordan in 2023. The Oscar-winning husband and wife duo behind “Let It Go,” from Disney’s “Frozen,” bought an $11.34 million condo around the same time as Simmons.
Just last year, the building listed a record-breaking $19.5 million condo on its 32nd floor.
It remains to be seen whether Simmons can match the luxury and style of his Dumbo condo with his new Los Angeles home, but it’s unlikely to make up for the Manhattan views.
