Maxx Crosby recruiting Aaron Rodgers to Raiders while Giants rumors swirl

Aaron Rodgers has at least one fan in the Raiders building.

Star defensive end Maxx Crosby said on his podcast “The Rush” that he would prefer the Raiders to add Rodgers to their 2025 roster.

Crosby has confidence in Rodgers playing like his old self in what would be his second season since tearing his Achilles with the Jets in 2023.

“The first year off an Achilles is one of the hardest things to do,” Crosby said of the devastating injury on the show. “You’ve seen it happen with (Falcons quarterback) Kirk (Cousins). Kirk had a down year. It happened with Aaron. He struggled early on, but he got better as the season went.

“I think with all the doubt and all the negativity around Aaron Rodgers — oh, he needs to retire, things like that, getting cut by the Jets — I think he’s going to come back. I know he’s 41, but I think he’s going to have a big year this year, and I hope it’s in our town.”

Rodgers had previously been rumored to land in Los Angeles and play for the Rams if they moved on from quarterback Matthew Stafford.

That is no longer an option, as Stafford agreed to return to Los Angeles on a revamped contract.

With Rodgers’ potential destinations dwindling, his most likely remaining destinations are the Giants, who are favored according to one betting oddsmaker, along with Steelers, Raiders and Titans.

Rodgers could be a package deal with former Packers and Jets teammate Davante Adams, providing an added bonus for any team looking to improve their offensive roster.

Adams played for Las Vegas last season before being shipped to the Jets.

The Raiders are certainly in the mix for a veteran quarterback and were interested in Stafford as well.

Even a 41-year-old Rodgers would be a step up from what the Raiders had last year, as Las Vegas came into the season with Gardner Minshew at quarterback.

Minshew suffered an injury early in the season as Aidan O’Connell and Desmond Ridder also got some snaps for the 4-13 Raiders.
