Eat like royalty!
Jack in the Box relishes the fact that Meghan Markle likes the fast-food chain.
After the Duchess of Sussex, 43, spoke about her mom’s love of Jack in the Box’s tacos on the second episode of her Netflix series “With Love, Meghan” with guest Mindy Kaling, Jack took it upon himself to gloat on social media.
Sharing a clip from the show, in which Kaling, 45, reacted in disbelief over Markle’s fast-food confession, Jack, wearing his spherical white head, blue painted eyes and red smile, put both his hands in fists and brought them close to his chest in victory.
“Eat like royalty with my 2 tacos. With love, Jack Box,” the restaurant chain captioned the Instagram video on Tuesday, March 4, which showed Jack in his signature business suit and trademark yellow pointed clown cap.
“JIB for the win!” one fan wrote in the comments section. “JITB 🌮🌮&🍔🍔 IS WAY BETTER THAN ROYALTY FOOD. ITS HEAVENLY,” shared another Jack in the Box lover.
“I love you jack, i will be faithful and loyal to you, forever ❤️❤️❤️,” posted a third. “I need jack in the box right now,” shared a fourth.
The duchess’ fast-food chat sparked controversy after she called Kaling out for repeatedly calling her Markle instead of “Sussex.”
After marrying Prince Harry in May 2018, they officially became the “Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”
While listing out all the fast-food items she loved as a kid, Markle told the actress that she liked Jack in the Box “because my mom loved their tacos.”
When Kaling responded, “I don’t think anyone in the world knows that Meghan Markle has eaten Jack in the Box,” Prince Harry’s wife quickly corrected her.
“It’s so funny, too, that you keep saying ‘Meghan Markle,’” she told her. “You know I’m Sussex now.”
While explaining the significance of sharing the same surname as her two children, Prince Archie of Sussex, 5, and daughter Princess Lilibet of Sussex, 3, Markle explained that she was a “latchkey kid” who “grew up with a lot of fast-food and TV tray dinners.”
After her revelation that some of her favorite childhood meals were often from El Pollo Loco, Taco Bell and Jack in the Box following claims she made in 2021 that she “grew up on the $4.99 salad bar at Sizzler,” her estranged half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., spoke up.
“That’s just another one of the malarkey stories she sold to the royal family for sympathy,” Thomas Jr. told TalkTV. “We weren’t poor. She didn’t have to rub two nickels together at Sizzler’s salad bar.
“The entire world knows how she treated her family, especially her father, who gave her everything. That’s why nobody’s buying it,” he added.
Her estranged half-brother, whom she hasn’t talked to in over a decade, also slammed her show.
While Thomas Jr. admitted he watched the series, he said he “realized there’s something better I could be doing with my time.”
He also claimed it was “the first time I felt sorry and embarrassed for her.”
