‘American Idol’ fan favorite Colin Stough, 20, allegedly crashes car after night of underage drinking: report

“American Idol” stud Colin Stough crashed his car outside of Nashville after a night of alleged underage boozing, according to a report.

The country music crooner, 20, was arrested early Friday after crashing on a 70-mph freeway in Williamson County, TMZ reported. No other cars were involved in the accident.

Stough, who placed third on the long-running singing competition show, was charged with DUI, underage consumption of alcohol and failure to exercise due care, according to the outlet.

The singer was taken to the hospital, though it is unclear if he suffered any injuries.

He was booked at the Williamson County Jail, but has since bailed out, according to TMZ.

On Friday evening, Stough seemed to allude to the crash in an Instagram video that shared a snippet of a song overlaid with the caption: “I’m not perfect and will never claim to be. But I will admit when I’m wrong and that’s a fact.”

The online comments were overwhelmingly supportive, with one fan stating: “You know that a bottle can take it ALL away. Please don’t let that happen. You’re too good for that.”

Colin was a fan favorite on the controversial 21st season of “American Idol” in 2023, where he placed behind Victor Iam Tongi and runner-up Megan Danielle.

Viewers at the time lambasted the outcome, claiming that the show was “rigged” in favor of Tongi, whose win made him the first Pacific Islander to claim the title.

Many fumed that Stough, who was 18 at the time, deserved to win.

Danielle broke her silence in an exclusive interview with The Post to dismiss rumors Tongi racked up sympathy votes because his father passed away just months before he took the stage, saying any of the three finalists were deserved of the top spot.
