Serena Williams — who dated Drake — appears at Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show

Serena Williams went from the stands to the stage at Super Bowl 2025.

The tennis phenom made a surprise appearance during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance at Caesars Superdome on Sunday, with the Eagles leading the reigning champion Chiefs, 24-0.

Williams was captured dancing along with the backup dancers to Lamar’s smash hit “Not Like Us” — his diss track about Drake that won five awards at the 2025 Grammys last week.

Williams and Drake dated each other in 2011, and the rapper revealed in footage released over the summer he wrote the 2016 song “Too Good” for the tennis superstar.

The next year, Williams married reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian — and they have two daughters, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., 7, and Adira River Ohanian,16 mos.

“Let’s go Super Bowl halftime??! I died a little!” Williams wrote in a post on X, which featured her backstage in a white top, a blue jacket, a matching skirt and sneakers.

Lamar and Williams both share a hometown of Compton, Calif. and his song “Not Like Us” became an unofficial anthem for their city.

Williams, 43, earned praise from fellow female athletes.

“10/10. plus serena. chefs kiss,” Angel Reese posted on X.

“loved the show and serena ate that. I love rap music and hip hop culture man. shoutout to sza too & K dot and #SamuelLJackson narrating was just chef kiss. well thought out,” Coco Gauff wrote.

There was plenty of hype surrounding Lamar’s performance entering Sunday.

He also had cameos from actor Samuel L. Jackson, who was dressed as “Uncle Sam” and emceed throughout the performance and DJ Mustard.

Lamar brought out SZA, who looked stunning a red leather outfit, to perform their songs, “Luther” and “All The Stars.”
