Woman, 90, fatally struck by 2 cars — including yellow taxi — in NYC: cops

A 90-year-old woman was fatally struck by two cars, including a yellow taxi, as she crossed an Upper East Side street Wednesday evening, cops and sources said. 

Frances Rickard was crossing at York Avenue and East 72nd Street around 5:40 p.m. when the 68-year-old man behind the wheel of the cab made a U-turn and hit her, according to authorities and sources.

Both drivers stayed at the scene and no arrests have been made. Citizen

Moments after Rickard was struck by the taxi, a 35-year-old woman driving a 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer also rammed into her, police said. 

The senior, who lived on the Upper West Side, was rushed to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries, police said. 

Both drivers stayed at the scene and have not been charged in connection to the deadly collision, cops said.
