As FBI Director-designate Kash Patel faces an utterly predictable tide of pseudo-outrage from corrupt leftist liars like Sen. Adam Schiff, it’s important to remember why — as Patel outlined in his blunt and utterly correct statement Thursday to the Senate Judiciary Committee at his confirmation hearing.
He wants to “make sure we don’t have 100,000 rapes in this country next year, make sure we don’t have 100,000 drug overdoses from Chinese fentanyl and Mexican heroin, and make sure we don’t have 17,000 homicides.
“Those numbers need to be cut in half immediately, and the public will regain trust in the FBI and law enforcement.”
That is: Have the FBI focus on its actual mission.
Reshape the bureau so it’s no longer a tool for political persecution of disfavored groups like parents protesting woke school boards and religious Catholics.
Nor spending countless hours and dollars investigating nonexistent Russian collusion by Donald Trump.
Move it away from perverse DEI initiatives and freakish pretenses that white supremacists represent the worst national security threat the nation faces.
Return it to being an agency dedicated to keeping Americans safe, period.
For Schiff (D-Calif.) and the rest of Team Progressive Screeching, that’s utterly unacceptable.
They claim Patel’s planning to do to them what they’ve done to the country for the past eight years.
But that’s pure projection.
The real reason they object is that Patel’s vision for the bureau destroys what they see as an essential political tool.
And because the slightest hint that crime is bad and we should fight it as hard as we can is still wildly taboo on the left.
No wonder that, in the words of Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), Patel has “made a lot of people mad.”
Patel’s rejoinder was dead-on as well: “If you’re not ticking off some people, you’re not doing your job right.”
The FBI has proven itself to be one of the most compromised institutions in American life, a process that was supercharged under former President Joe Biden.
It’s waaaaaaaay past time to clean house, and Patel’s the man to do it.
