Popular food influencer Rebecca Wylie Simms has died after surgery complications, her heartbroken twin sister has revealed.
Simms, who was affectionately known as Boo to her close friends, died Monday in California.
An official cause of death is yet to be revealed.
The mom of two, who was also the co-owner of celebrity-loved Santa Monica cheese shop Lady & Larder, was described as a “magic maker” and “brightest light” in the heartfelt tribute.
“It is with profound sadness that I share the devastating loss of my twin sister and co-founder, Boo Simms, who passed away this week due to a tragic surgery complication,” her sister Sarah’s tribute on the business’s Instagram page read.
“This loss is immeasurable, and our hearts are completely shattered. Boo was our magic maker, our color painter, and the brightest light I have ever known.”
“We ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate this overwhelmingly painful time,” the post added.
The twins created their food-first business back in 2016, which sells gourmet cheeses and meats. The business is a hit among local celebs living in the area.
The duo’s Santa Monica location proved to be so successful that they went on to open another store in Carmel Valley, about 320 miles away.
However, Sarah announced in her tribute that she would be closing doors to the Carmel Valley location for the foreseeable future following news of her sister’s death.
In addition to Rebecca’s work on Lady & Larder, she also served as the Senior Creative Director at Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar.
“Rebecca was a beacon of light in the creative world,” a family friend told The Sun.
