Carrie Underwood sings ‘America the Beautiful’ a cappella after awkward audio malfunction at Trump inauguration

Carrie Underwood sang “America the Beautiful” a cappella after an awkward audio malfunction at President Donald Trump’s inauguration in Washington, DC, Monday.

The “Before He Cheats” singer, 41, belted out the patriotic tune in the United States Capitol rotunda for a sea of Republicans and some Democrats, whom she asked to “help me out here” after an extended period of silence caused by technical difficulties.

Underwood was supposed to be accompanied by the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club.

She wore a simple gray draped dress and a sparkling diamond bracelet for the event.

The “American Idol” alum’s star-spangled performance unfolded moments after Vice President JD Vance took the oath of office and Trump, 78, was sworn in as the 47th POTUS.

Earlier this month, Underwood confirmed she would be singing at Trump’s inauguration.

“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” she said in a statement to Page Six on Jan. 13.

“I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”

However, liberal fans heavily criticized Underwood for aligning with the “Apprentice” alum.

“How do you love your country and support and normalize somebody who was a convicted felon who really wants to destroy the country, in my opinion,” Joy Behar said on “The View” last week, referring to Trump’s hush money conviction last year.

Behar’s co-host Whoopi Goldberg defended the Grammy winner, stating, “I stand behind her. If I believe I have the right to make up my mind to go perform someplace, I believe they have the same right.”

Trump’s second inauguration weekend had a much starrier lineup of performers than his first time around in 2017.

Country singer Lee Greenwood performed “God Bless the USA,” a staple at Trump rallies, during the swearing-in ceremony, while opera singer Christopher Macchio sang the national anthem.

Over the weekend, Jason Aldean, Billy Ray Cyrus and Kid Rock also performed at the Make America Great Again Victory Rally.

The Village People also participated — an appropriate choice considering Trump has danced to the band’s “YMCA” song at several of his rallies over the years.

Other stars slated to perform at the inauguration events include Rascal Flatts, Gavin DeGraw and more.
