Rachael Ray thought husband John Cusimano was gay when they met, tried to set him up with male friend

It was not love at first sight for Rachael Ray.

The TV cook shared that she thought her now-husband, John Cusimano, was gay when she first saw him.

“I tried to set him up on a date with a male friend of mine, and he said, ‘But I am not gay,’” she recalled in a sneak peek of the “I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario” podcast obtained by Us Weekly Monday.

Ray said she was excited to hear the “World War Mud” actor’s real sexual orientation.

“I was like, ‘Check, please,’ and I couldn’t wait to get him in the sack,” she admitted.

“It was [a memorable evening], and he is a very blessed man.”

The cookbook author, 56, could not stop gushing about Cusimano, 57, being well-endowed in the episode, which is set to be released Tuesday.

“I had to buy two different-sized suits for our wedding from Prada because his jacket was one size and his trouser was another,” she quipped.

“I certainly am — I am a very lucky lady.”

Ray and Cusimano met in 2001 at a mutual friend’s party.

He later joked that they locked eyes because they were the shortest people at the get-together.

“I like to say we saw each other among a sea of knees,” Cusimano said on his wife’s talk show in 2020, with Ray adding that they “crossed a crowded room and started talking, and we have talked every day since the night we met.”

The pair tied the knot at a Tuscan castle in Italy in 2005.

During a November episode of Ray’s podcast, “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead,” she opened up about how her pets bring her happiness after deciding not to have children.

“For me, if I have the absolute worst day, or I’m sick as a dog — as the expression goes — the thing that makes me feel best is to go home and literally climb into bed under a blanket with my dog,” she explained.
