Alexander Romanov: B
At five-on-five, there have been pretty much no concerns about Romanov. He’s been himself — physical, good in his own zone, dealing with tough matchups consistently. If that’s all that went into this, the grade would be more like an A-minus or an A. But everyone who plays special-teams minutes — and Romanov is part of the penalty kill — is getting docked here. That’s just what happens when the power play and penalty kill both rank last in the league, with the PK on pace to be the worst in recorded history.
