Lamar Jackson says he’s going to watch Beyoncé’s halftime show during Ravens’ Christmas game

Nothing is going to stop Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson from seeing his first-ever Beyoncé performance, not even his own football game.

Jackson, seemingly tongue in cheek, told reporters on Monday that he would be making his way out at halftime to see Queen Bey perform at Wednesday’s Christmas Day game against the Texans at NRG Stadium in Houston, Beyoncé’s hometown.

The Ravens quarterback, 27, had been asked if he was disappointed that he wouldn’t be able to catch the performance.

“No, cause I’m gonna go out there and watch,” Jackson responded with a smirk. “I’m gonna go out there and watch, man. First time seeing Beyoncé perform and it’s at our game? That’s dope. I’m gonna go out and watch. Sorry, [Baltimore coach John] Harbaugh. Sorry, fellas.”

When Jackson was asked if the score of the game could have any impact on his decision to step out to see the “Single Ladies” singer, 43, he seemed to stand firm on his desire to see the performance.

“I’m not even thinking about the lead,” Jackson said. “I was just thinking about seeing Beyoncé for the first time. Not saying it like that, no disrespect. I know how people can take things.”

While it’s unclear if Jackson is being serious about his plan to actually walk out at halftime to see the concert, Harbaugh seemed to indicate there could be an issue.

The Ravens coach also said he wasn’t the biggest fan of Beyoncé, but added, “I think I like her.”

“Is she doing country [music] now? You think some of those country songs will be in there? You’ll have to report to me on that,” he told reporters.
