Princess Beatrice’s plans for the holidays have changed.
The 36-year-old royal — who is currently pregnant with her second child — was going to spend Christmas with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and his parents in Italy.
However, multipleoutlets reported Sunday that Beatrice canceled the overseas trip because of medical advise that she received.
The princess was reportedly advised to not travel long distances due to her pregnancy. She is due to give birth in early spring.
Beatrice, her husband, and their daughter Sienna, 3, will now be joining the royal family at Sandringham on Christmas.
Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie, 34, is still expected to miss the festivities in favor of spending Christmas with her husband Jack Brooksbank‘s family.
The siblings both missed the royal family’s Christmas gathering only once in the last decade. That was in December 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beatrice and her immediate family will be among over 40 people celebrating the holiday at King Charles III’s Sandringham estate later this week.
The guest list includes Charles, 76, and Queen Camilla, 77, as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton and their kids Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6
“We’ll be 45 for Christmas. It won’t be quiet, it will be noisy,” William, 42, said about the holiday gathering during a recent visit with soldiers and their families in Bulford, Wiltshire.
“Am I ready for Christmas? No, no way am I ready,” he joked.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who are both estranged from the royal family and now live in California with their two kids, were reportedly not invited to the celebration. The Sussexes have not spent Christmas with the royals since 2018.
Beatrice and Eugenie’s parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, also won’t be at Sandringham for Christmas.
The Duke of York, 64, decided to “honorably withdraw” from the annual celebration amid his connection to the Chinese spy scandal.
According to the Independent, Ferguson, 65, encouraged Andrew to bow out of the Christmas party, and gave up her own invitation.
Andrew and Ferguson are expected to remain home at Royal Lodge in Windsor Park — the palatial estate Andrew has fought to remain in after King Charles attempted to evict him.
The former couple was at Sandringham at Christmas last year. They were expected to attend the gathering again this year, but that changed due to the controversy over Andrew’s ex-staffer who has been accused of being a Chinese spy.
Businessman Yang Tenbo, also known as Chris Yang, has denied the accusations of espionage leveled against him.
Court documents have reportedly revealed that Yang had an “unusual degree of trust” with Andrew and was authorized to act on his behalf in business dealings with Chinese investors.
The prince has also pushed back on the accusations and said he “ceased all contact” with the alleged spy.
