A pair of historic Manhattan lesbian bars want a “woke” crusader hauled off to a mental ward for fears that she could violently snap and become the next “Luigi Mangione,” according to a new filing in a defamation suit the Sapphic hotspots are bringing against the Queens woman.
Anne Marie Bompart allegedly called the accused CEO killer a “hero” and wrote numerous violent threats in a series of social media posts and emails, according to lawyers for the Cubbyhole and Henrietta Hudson — who claim it’s a sign she might follow in Mangione’s bloody footsteps.
“Defendant is a potential copycat [of] ‘Luigi Mangione’ and capable of hurting herself and/or others,” Thomas Shanahan, an attorney representing both lesbian bars, wrote in the filing.
The two bars have for the past few months been pressing a defamation lawsuit against Bompart, who they accuse of spreading false rumors that the lesbian nightclubs are racist and allow violence against people of color.
The clubs upped the ante in the legal battle Tuesday, however, by trying to link Bompart to Mangione in the legal record.
They submitted a list of violent threats Bompart allegedly made online and showed how she has been using words like “beauty” to praise the accused killer, who allegedly shot Thompson in anger at his health insurance company’s denied claims.
The shooter, who has been brought back to New York City to stand trial, has become a darling of the online far left, who see him striking a blow against corporate greed.
“Her belief that Mr. Mangione is a ‘hero’ demonstrates a clear detachment from reality and the consequences of her actions (as well as his),” Shanahan wrote.
Shanahan is asking the judge to issue a mental health warrant and involuntarily admit Bompart, 29, for a psychiatric evaluation.
In an emailed statement to The Post, Bompart said the post was “sarcasm” and she does not support Mangione.
Despite Bompart’s denials, the new court filing says she continues to harass the clubs, even though a restraining order was issues against her.
“Rather than stop with her harassment after this Court issued its TRO and move on with her life, [Bompart] continues her daily reign of terror through emails,” the clubs wrote in court papers.
The list of alleged violent threats by Bompart began last month before the shooting, the papers say.
In one, she talked about “my little list of ‘People Who Might Unfortunately End Up With Black Eyes and Bloody Noses Soon.”
Another said if she sees a worker from the first bar that sued her, she would “stomp the shit out of his dog in front of him.”
“I’ve found that threatening actual violence (in a very sparing & strategic way & only as a last resort) has actually worked,” Bompart posted on her Instagram account, the filings show.
Bompart, however, called the case and the new accusations a “bad-faith, slanderous effort on the part of the other side,” in an email to The Post.
“They want revenge, for the ostensible ‘defamation’ I committed on them,” she wrote to The Post. “They love the drama and they love to destroy people and so they’re playing up the worst of it, when the most dramatic things I said were a minority among the thoughtful things I said and a minority among the parts where I was expressing an earnest desire to communicate with them and the extent to which I was saddened and hurt by their behavior.”
“I tried to address it privately with them for months; and now that it’s public, they’re angry and calling me ‘crazy,’” Bompart wrote. “Personally, I believe my response to be logical, or at least inevitable. And I could have handled it a lot worse, but I didn’t.”
The bar’s manager, Vic Smith, a trans man, says in court documents that Bompart was banned from Cubbyhole in January after he refused her advances and she became erratic.
Since then, Bompart has sent “approximately 500 emails and social media posts” claiming the bar is racist and violent, the suit states. She even allegedly convinced groups to cancel events at the bars.
The Queens native has sent both violent and sexual emails to Smith — including graphic descriptions of her masturbating, court documents claim.
She told The Post that Smith “used his power in the queer bar community to get bar staff at other bars to harass and surveil me,” and even had “sent someone after me to my house.”
Bompart’s emails reveal that she also wants to bankrupt the longtime establishment, and has threatened to file an IRS complaint claiming the bar is selling drugs and evading taxes.
“My real plan is to get rid of Lisa and Vic’s hold on Cubbyhole, and to own it myself, and bring it back to the lovely space it used to be,” Bompart wrote in a Nov. 23 email filed in court. “And when I sue Lisa and Cubby for damages, that will be the intention lol.”
Bompart was first sued last September in a $40 million defamation claim by Henrietta Hudson, before the Cubbyhole joined the legal action last month.
She is due back in court in January when she will be heard in both cases, including on a contempt motion for allegedly violating the prior settlement.
