Who won ‘Survivor 47’? The latest winner revealed at the final tribal council

A new “Survivor” winner has been crowned!

Rachel LaMont won Season 47 and the $1 million prize during the CBS reality show’s two-hour finale on Wednesday night.

LaMont, 34, defeated Sam Phalen and Sue Smey in the final tribal council. She received seven out of the eight jury votes.

Sierra Wright, Sol Yi, Gabe Ortis, Caroline Vidmar,Andy Rueda, Genevieve Mushaluk and Teeny Chirichillo all voted for LaMont to win.

Kyle Ostwald voted for Phalen to win. No jurors voted for Smey to win.

Chirichillo was eliminated in fourth place earlier in the episode.

Rachel wins the final 4 immunity challenge

Rachel guaranteed her spot in the final 3 by winning the final 4 immunity challenge. The challenge involved going through an obstacle course before solving an upside down bat puzzle.

It was Rachel’s fourth immunity win of the season. She tied the record for most individual immunity challenge wins by a woman on a single “Survivor” season. The others tied for the record include Season 1 runner-up Kelly Wigglesworth, Season 6 winner Jenna Morasca, Season 24 winner Kim Spradlin and Season 35 runner-up Chrissy Hofbeck.

Rachel brings Sue to the final 3

At tribal council, Rachel decided to bring Sue with her to the final 3. She made it clear that she wanted to reward Sue for being loyal to her. Rachel’s decision sent Sam and Teeny into a firemaking showdown.

Sam beats Teeny at fire

Sam defeated Teeny at the firemaking challenge, securing his spot in the final 3 with Rachel and Sue. Teeny made fire first and came close to burning the rope and releasing their flag — but Sam made a huge comeback and burnt his rope first.

Teeny was in tears after the challenge but acknowledged they “did my best” and got to live out their dream of playing “Survivor.” Their torch was snuffed and they became the eighth and final member of the jury.

The final tribal council

At final tribal council, Rachel, Sam and Sue sat in front of the jury and each pleaded their cases to win.

Rachel highlighted her immunity wins and idol play at final 6, as well as her ability to adapt.

Sam talked up his ability to survive while being on the bottom and how he was on the right side of nearly every vote.

Sue spoke about how loyal she was and that she’d become the oldest female “Survivor” winner at 59.

Rachel wins the game

LaMont was declared the winner of “Survivor 47” over Phalen and Smey by a jury vote of 7-1-0.

“Survivor” Season 48 premieres Feb. 26 on CBS.
