Brutal video shows SUV driver crushing NYC worker against garbage truck, leaving him with severe injuries

Disturbing video shows the moment an SUV driver slammed into a Bronx Sanitation worker – pinning him against his truck and leaving with him with critical injuries, including two broken legs.

Ahmad Ladson, 32, was at the rear of his garbage truck on Colgate Avenue near Watson Avenue in Soundview around 8 a.m. Monday – when a Toyota Highlander SUV careened into him from behind, authorities and sources said.

Ladson wailed in pain as he became wedged between the two vehicles, and then rolled onto the ground next to his truck, unable to get up, the unsettling video showed.

Ahmad Ladson, 32, was working on the rainy Bronx street when the SUV driver struck him from behind, the video shows.

The Toyota driver, identified by cops as a 40-year-old woman, got out of the car and came to the badly injured worker’s aid, as did a second person who appeared to be a fellow Sanitation worker.

A few other pedestrians passed on the opposite side of the rainy street and continued walking without stopping, the video showed.

Ladson suffered compound fractures to both of his legs and was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition, cops and sources said.

Ladson was rushd to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was being treated for compound fractures to both of his legs.

The driver, meanwhile, stayed on the scene and was taken to the same hospital for a panic attack, sources said.

She did not face any charges by Tuesday and the investigation was ongoing, cops said.

Ladson has worked for the Department of Sanitation for just over two years.

A GoFundMe page launched to help fund Ladson’s medical care described him as a husband and father of three with two years and two months of service on the job.

“Sanitation Workers have a dangerous job, as the horrifying video of this collision shows,” the Department of Sanitation said in a statement.

“Sanitation Worker Ladson remains at Jacobi Hospital receiving round-the-clock care, and every single one of New York’s Strongest is incredibly grateful to the medical team there,” the statement said. “Our entire Department stands with Sanitation Worker Ladson’s family in this difficult time.”
