Heroes, zeros from Giants’ loss to Saints: Ex-Jet Demario Davis stars back at MetLife

Heroes, zeros and the full blitz from the Giants’ 14-11 loss to the Saints at MetLife Stadium on Sunday:

Hero

Bryan Breese blocked a 35-yard field goal with 11 seconds remaining to prevent the Giants from tying the score. It was similar to a play the Giants used to beat the Seahawks earlier this season.

Zero

Put in an unenviable spot, undrafted rookie guard Jake Kubas’ NFL debut couldn’t have gone worse. He was called for a personal foul that took three points off the scoreboard on one field goal and was pushed down and jumped over on the final field-goal attempt.

Unsung Hero

Veteran linebacker Demario Davis — a former Jets draft pick — tied for the Saints’ lead with eight tackles and also had an interception.

Quote of the Day

“It’s just football, I guess. That’s just the New York Giants this year.”
