The 50-year-old man was involved in a collision with a car, but no bus passengers were injured, police said.
QUEBEC CITY — A bus driver for the RTC was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol after being involved in a collision Friday night in Quebec City.
Police were called to the scene at around 11:40 p.m. after a collision between a car and a bus for the Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC) near the intersection of René-Lévesque Blvd. and Cardinal-Bégin Ave. The bus driver showed signs of intoxication.
“Police observed the man presented signs of alcohol intoxication. The driver was arrested and transported to a police station to take a breathalyzer test,” said William Robitaille, a spokesperson for Quebec City police in an interview Saturday morning.
“Following the test, we can confirm the driver presented a blood-alcohol concentration that was more than double the allowed limit,” Robitaille said.
Nobody was injured, including the passengers aboard the bus and the driver of the car.
The RTC bus driver, a 50-year-old man, was released on promise to appear before a judge at a later date.
