New details are emerging about the alleged gunman who fatally shot United HealthCare CEO Brian Thompson on Wednesday morning in New York.
Thompson was in New York City for an investor meeting when a man who was “lying in wait” approached him outside of the New York Hilton Midtown around 6:45 a.m., according to the New York Police Department.

Police released images of the alleged gunman on X. In the photos, the suspect’s face is covered, he is wearing a black jacket with the hood up and a grey backpack. In another set of photos also shared on X, the suspect can be seen riding a bike.
After the shooting, police said the suspect fled on foot and then on an e-bike. He was “last seen in Central Park on Center Drive,” said Tisch.
Sources told the publication they believed the gunman used a silencer, which suppresses the noise of a gun when it is fired, and seemed to be an experienced shooter.
