Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie shared an emotional moment as they watched their final Rockefeller Tree Lighting ceremony together.
On Wednesday night, the “Today” show co-hosts stood with their arms intertwined as the massive tree was lit for the annual New York City holiday tradition.
In the clip, Kotb glimpsed at Guthrie as the latter looked up at the tree. The two then looked at one another before Guthrie, 52, placed her head on Kotb’s shoulder.
Kotb, 60, appeared to get emotional before the video ended.
“Taking in the moment. 🤍 It’s snowing at Rockefeller Center!” the “Today” show captioned the video.
Several fans took to the comments section of the post to express how “beautiful” the moment was.
“Now, how perfect is this? Her face says it all,” wrote one user.
“Such a beautiful moment. 💚♥️🎅🏻,” added another.
“NOT ME CRYING RIGHT NOW. THE MOST MAGICAL NIGHT FOR HODA’S LAST YEAR🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🫶🏼💚🎄❤️,” said a third person.
“this is too emotional 😭😭😭,” commented a fourth person.
In September, Kotb emotionally announced that she was leaving the “Today” show after over 26 years with NBC.
The mom of two said she realized it was time for her to “turn the page at 60” and “try something new” outside of her lengthy career as a TV host.
“I decided this is the right time for me to kind of move on. And so with all that being said, this is the hardest thing in the world,” she said.
“I’m not gonna be here past the first of the year. I’m gonna stay in the NBC family, but it’s kind of a big deal for me.”
A source told Page Six that Kotb decided to leave the morning show after moving to the suburbs of Bronxville, NY, with her two daughters: Haley, 7, and Hope, 4.
Last month, it was announced that Craig Melvin would replace Kotb when she exits in January.
The “I’ve Loved You Since Forever” author gushed about Melvin, 45, being her replacement.
“You were made for this job. … You have all the things that this job needs. You’re the right person for it,” she said on the live broadcast.
