Second car torched in Pointe-Claire in less than two days

The vehicle was a total loss and the fire caused significant damage to a nearby residence, Montreal police said.

Another vehicle has been deliberately set ablaze in the city of Pointe-Claire, Montreal police say. It is the second such incident to occur in the municipality in less than 48 hours.

The latest incident occurred late Tuesday, a little before 11:30 p.m., when a vehicle was found on fire in the driveway of a private residence on Pendennis Ave. near Hilary Ave.

Firefighters brought the flames under control, but the vehicle was a total loss, police said. The fire caused serious damage to a nearby residence.

Police said flammable material was found on a vehicle parked at a nearby residence and the case had been transferred to the arson squad.

There were no injuries reported and no arrests made by sunrise Wednesday.
