The Cuban-Venezuelan-American actress plays Captain Josephina Carillo on “Lioness,” an espionage drama now in its second season on Paramount+. “Josephina is the coolest character I’ve ever played,” says Rodriguez, 37. “She flies helicopters. Enough said.”
The “woman power” show boasts other formidable female leads, including Oscar winner Nicole Kidman, Laysla De Oliveira and one of Rodriguez’s acting heroes, Zoe Saldaña. “To have the opportunity to work with her is a dream come true,” says “The Umbrella Academy” alum. “Zoe is truly amazing!”
When in South Florida, the Heat fan can be spotted checking out art in KDR gallery or the Rubell Museum and eating at Sunny’s Steakhouse or Tâm Tâm.
