Thompson stumbles back upon the first shot, which appears to hit him in the back, briefly turning to face the shooter before falling to the sidewalk and attempting to crawl away as the gunman continues firing.

He appears to get three shots off in the video, but the clip ends as he peers down the barrel, seemingly readying the weapon for another shot.

A pedestrian who is standing on the sidewalk between the killer and Thompson breaks into a sprint and runs out of frame the second they realize what is going on.

A police source told The Post it appeared the shooter’s weapon jammed at some point as he fired, and he had to adjust the gun to fix the jam so he could keep firing, suggesting the attacker has some degree of familiarity with firearms.

The suspect was last seen entering Central Park, according to officials.
