Kevin Costner shares rare photos of his kids on Thanksgiving after ‘Yellowstone’ cast celebrated without him

Kevin Costner marked the holiday season with a sweet picture of his family.

On Monday, the actor, 69, shared recent photos of him with six of his seven kids.

In the first photo, Costner flashes a smile while on a beach accompanied by daughters Annie, 40, Lily, 38, and Grace, 14. Also in the beach shot are sons Joe, 36, Cayden, 17, and Hayes, 15. The “Yellowstone” star stood in the middle as his kids embraced once another while posing.

“Hoping you guys had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the people you love most,” Costner captioned the Instagram post. “At the top of my ‘grateful for’ list are the many really, really special memories I’ve gotten to make with my kids this year.”

“Here’s to a holiday season dedicated to making more,” he added.

Other pictures in the carousel included a black-and-white snap of Costner and Cayden laughing together while sitting on a bed.

A short clip also showed the two-time Oscar winner posing alongside his children at the Los Angeles premiere of “Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 1.” He was joined at the event by Annie, Joe, Cayden, Hayes and Grace.

Rounding out the heartwarming images, was a black-and-white photo of Costner, Annie, Lily, Grace, Cayden and Hayes at an event. Annie wrapped her arms around Hayes while their other siblings stood next to one another and their dad for the shot.

The “Let Him Go” actor did not include images of his son Liam, 28, in the post.

Kevin Costner took to Instagram to share shots of himself with his children.

Costner shares Annie, Lily and Joe with his first wife Cindy Silva, and Liam with his former partner Bridget Rooney. His youngest children — Cayden, Hayes and Grace — are with his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner. The exes finalized their divorce in February.

A rep for Costner told People in September that the pair “have come to an amicable and mutually agreed upon resolution of all issues pertaining to their divorce proceedings,” after TMZ initially reported news of their settlement.

Baumgartner filed for divorce on May 1, 2023 after 18 years of marriage and listed her date of separation from Costner as April 11.

“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action,” a rep for the star said in a statement at the time after his former wife filed for divorce. “We ask that his, Christine’s, and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”

And although Costner uploaded a series of pictures with his real life family, he was noticeably absent from his former television family’s Thanksgiving festivities.

The “Yellowstone” cast came together for a mini-reunion over the holiday, with the show’s still photographer, Emerson Miller, sharing a smiling photo of several cast and crew members.

“Gente, ‘Merry’ Thanksgiving. From my familia to yours. With so much love,” Miller captioned the group photo on Thursday.

“Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan was spotted in the festive image, which also included the show’s stars Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton), Ian Bowen (Ryan) and Gil Birmingham (Thomas Rainwater).

The cast’s significant others were also present and posed in the picture with Grimes’ wife, Bianca Rodrigues, standing front and center while cradling their newborn baby.

The star, 40, and Rodrigues, 28, welcomed their son last month after tying the knot in November 2018.

But Costner, who played John Dutton, did not partake in the holiday with his former co-stars after leaving the show in Part 1 of Season 5 in 2022.

The Paramount cast appeared upbeat despite the backlash surrounding the final season of the series — especially when it came to Costner’s exit.

The actor’s patriarch character was killed off in the first episode of Season 5B after confirming his departure in June following speculation of a feud with Sheridan.

He did not appear in the final season premiere on Nov. 13, leading many viewers to wonder how they’d write off his character — and they weren’t ready for how John Dutton went out.

A hit man fatally shot John, and it was made to look like a suicide. Fans later find out that the girlfriend of his son Jamie (Wes Bentley) orchestrated his murder plot.

Costner shared his thoughts on the fan backlash to John Dutton’s fate. “Fans have a voice in things, and they choose to follow stuff,” he told E! News on November 17.

Costner added that he had pitched John’s death to Sheridan “a while back” but had no stake in what happens now. “They do what they want to do,” he continued. “That’s fine with me.”

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight that same night, Costner confirmed that he hadn’t seen the episode where his character dies.

“I didn’t watch it, so I don’t really have any thoughts about it,” he noted.
