Barbara Corcoran keeps her distance from her husband at night.
The “Shark Tank” star admitted on “The Jamie Kern Lima Show” Monday that she and Bill Higgins, who wed in February 1988, sleep in separate bedrooms.
Corcoran, 75, joked that this ensures sex is a “short thing.”
She added, “My idea of a special night with my husband is a good game of Scrabble. He’ll often say to me ‘S or S?’ and I’ll say, ‘Scrabble’ because the first ‘S’ means sex, and I say, ‘No, Scrabble.’
“I love beating him at Scrabble, and he loves beating me at Scrabble, and that’s a great night,” the businesswoman continued.
Corcoran joked Higgins “doesn’t dare come in” when she retreats to her own bedroom.
“I have to invite him into my bedroom, and I like it that way,” she explained. “He’s never invited me back ’cause he knows I’ll never come into his bedroom, but I have to invite him into my bedroom.”
The investor gushed about having her “own private space” as a person with a “very busy life.”
She said, “I have a huge family that I’m always entertaining. I have very sincere, active friends, and so what I need more than anything else is a respite, and my husband is not relaxing.”
Corcoran told listeners that she needs to “come up with the energy at the end of the day to listen to [Higgins] and to nod and to contribute to the conversation.”
The “Millionaire Broker” host first spoke about the couple’s unconventional sleeping arrangements on the “Today” show in March.
Corcoran confirmed that she has slept “like a baby” for 40 years by not going to bed near her husband’s “piles of stuff everywhere.”
She added that the dynamic keeps “things fun” in their romance and adds “sexiness” to it.
Corcoran and Higgins have been together since meeting in 1981.
The duo are the parents of son Tom and daughter Kate.
