The Ravens traded for Diontae Johnson a week before the deadline to give Lamar Jackson another weapon.
But the 28-year-old has barely been on the field in five games with Baltimore, and did not step on the field at all during the team’s 24-19 home loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was cryptic about Johnson’s status after the game.
“I’m not really ready to comment on that right now,” Harbaugh said. “I will be, just don’t have enough information right now to talk about that.”
Johnson’s lack of involvement on Sunday was particularly surprising given that fellow receiver Rashod Bateman left the game early with a knee injury.
Zay Flowers led Ravens wideouts with seven targets, catching three passes for 74 yards. Tight end Isaiah Likely had five catches on eight targets for 38 yards and a touchdown and fellow tight end Mark Andrews had six catches on seven targets for 67 yards and a touchdown.
The Ravens acquired Johnson and a 2025 sixth-round pick from the Panthers on Oct. 29 for a 2025 fifth-rounder.
Since then, Johnson has just one catch for six yards on five targets.
“We want [Johnson] out there,” Jackson told reporters Sunday. “He’s a great receiver. We didn’t get him from the Panthers for nothing.”
Johnson had 30 catches for 357 yards and three touchdowns in seven games with Carolina earlier this season.
He spent the previous five seasons with the Steelers, earning Pro Bowl honors in 2021, when he had 107 catches for 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns.
