Talk about a step too far.

Some Adidas fans are trashing the German apparel giant’s mashup with offbeat fashion brand AVAVAV after a new collection featuring its Superstar sneakers included detachable rubber toes called “Superfingers.”

While a few followers seemed to love the release, most of the top comments on an Adidas Instagram post promoting the collab trashed it as “cursed,” “cringe,” “pathetic,” “weird” and “cooked n burnt.”

“Ain’t no way boi,” one follower said in reply to the promotional photos.

“If you call this fashion, you need some therapy,” another commenter added.

“Imagine being weird enough to buy this crap,” a third follower said.

While AVAVAV creative director Beate Karlsson called the release a “longtime dream” of hers, the Post reported, she seemed to skewer the idea as well.

“From the beginning of our partnership, I was encouraged to ‘make fun’ of Adidas,” she said, according to Hypebae.

“There’s so much irony in how seriously we take sports and fashion; exploring that while maintaining a serious attitude has been incredibly fun.”

Shoppers seem to agree with the approach as the Post reported that some sizes have already sold out.

AVAVAV’s “Superfingers” are the latest wacky design by the Stockholm-based independent fashion house, which was founded in 2021 and strives for “creative freedom, driven by humour, entertainment and design evolution.”

Its eccentric approach to fashion includes embracing theatrics by encouraging the audience to throw trash at shows, the Post reported, while models have purposefully stumbled or sprinted down the runway.
