“Tot mom” Casey Anthony has parted ways with her married boyfriend — and the notorious former murder defendant is telling friends that she simply “grew tired” of the relationship.
“She gets bored easily,” says a pal of Anthony, who became an international figure after the disappearance and murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. “It was very exciting when he was married because he was the forbidden fruit.”
“But once she had him, there was nowhere to go,” the insider continues. “What was she going to do with him? She grew tired and restless. So it was time to move on.”
Anthony, 38, had been dating 49-year-old Tyson Ray Rhodes since January. In September, The Post photographed the couple outside of her Tennessee apartment.
Anthony and Rhodes met through the gym where they both worked out in South Florida. They joined a group text with other gym members — but soon began talking one-on-one, according to sources. When Rhodes moved his family to Tennessee, Anthony followed along and got an apartment near his home.
But the relationship came at a cost — Rhodes’ decades-long marriage.
Rhodes, an engineer for an aerospace company, had been married to wife Sandy for 22 years when he and Anthony got together. The couple had two grown sons. At the time, a family source told The Post that Sandy was “blindsided” by the revelation that he was dating Anthony.
Now, the Rhodes family source tells The Post that Rhodes feels he made a mistake.
“He regrets leaving his marriage for her,” the insider says. “He wasn’t thinking clearly. He has a lot of repairs to make. I wouldn’t want to be him right now.”
Rhodes did not return The Post’s message for comment.
It has been more than 15 years since Anthony first entered the public consciousness after the disappearance of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, in July, 2008.
The little girl had been missing for more than a month before Casey’s mother, Cindy, called 911 to report the disappearance.
During a nationwide hunt for the missing toddler, Casey Anthony was arrested after police caught her in several lies, including claiming that Caylee had been kidnapped by a nanny, Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez.
Police soon learned that Anthony had spent the previous month dancing on tables and partying with friends — and not looking for her missing daughter.
Six months later, Caylee’s remains were found in a wooded area near the Anthony family home.
Her cause of death could not be determined, but Casey was charged with first-degree murder.
Anthony’s 2011 murder trial was a media circus, with an estimated 40 million Americans watching at least part of the trial. The jaw-dropping not guilty verdict was viewed by nearly 100 million people worldwide.
But now, Anthony is weighing her next move after the split.
“She will 100% find someone else to date,” says the pal. “Casey is a serial dater. That’s just what she does. She’ll move on in no time.”
