The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. on Bossuet St. near Sherbrooke St. in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district.
An east-end apartment dweller was recovering in hospital early Monday after being shot in his home by at least one assailant.
Montreal police said they received multiple 911 calls around 3:30 a.m. reporting shots fired at an apartment on Bossuet St. near Sherbrooke St. in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district.
Police said a preliminary investigation found someone broke into the apartment and opened fire on the victim, a 42-year-old man, striking him a least once in the upper body before fleeing.
The victim’s wounds are not life threatening.
A crime scene has been set up at the site and a canine unit deployed to search for clues. A single spent cartridge was recovered from the site and the investigation was continuing at sunrise Monday.
