“The SRRA is incredibly proud to support the enhancement of the Meewasin Trail, a resource that plays such a vital role in Saskatoon’s running community and beyond,” SRRA president Peter Goode said in a Thursday press release.
“Surpassing half a million dollars in contributions is a testament to the collective efforts of our members, event participants, and volunteers. Together, we’re helping ensure the Meewasin Valley remains a vibrant, accessible space for everyone to enjoy.”
In the last four years, these initiatives have generated nearly $300,000 for the MVA, funding water fountains and major projects like the Southwest Trail seating node.
“The Saskatoon Road Runners Association has been an extraordinary partner in helping Meewasin create a more accessible, active, and sustainable Meewasin Valley for everyone,” said MVA CEO Andrea Lafond.
“Their ongoing commitment to enhancing the Meewasin Trail, from major projects to everyday amenities, has strengthened both our community and Saskatoon’s vibrant running culture. We are grateful for their continued support and look forward to the lasting impact of this partnership.”
