Why it’s time to reconsider this year’s NFL rookie class

Hold off on handing that Offensive Rookie of the Year trophy to Jayden Daniels just yet.

Daniels has been one of the biggest stories in the NFL since Week 3, when he set a rookie record by completing 91.3 percent of his passes (21-of-23) in an upset of the Bengals and upped the Commanders’ streak to 17 consecutive possessions with a score or an end-of-half kneel-down over a three-game stretch.

More than anything, however, Daniels has combined with new first-year head coach Dan Quinn, first-year general manager Adam Peters and second-year owner Josh Harris to change the loser (and toxic) identity of the Commanders (7-4). That factor can’t be overstated, no matter how many Hail Marys he completes

But, on the field, Daniels suddenly has competition.
