Management accuses the union of making “demands deemed unreasonable and exerting significant pressure tactics.”
The Fairmount Queen Elizabeth Hotel locked out its employees Wednesday at 6 a.m. after the union rejected a contract proposal.
A press statement sent by hotel management just after 11 a.m. accused the union of making “demands deemed unreasonable and exerting significant pressure tactics.”
Hotel management is “open to dialogue and hopes to resume negotiations constructively to reach a quick and satisfactory resolution for all parties involved,” the release said.
“We’re on strike today because the employer refuses to negotiate in good faith,” hotel concierge François Houle said at the time.
