Thick plumes of smoke were spotted bursting out of the roof of a 13-story building in Soho early Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to the two-alarm blaze at 451 Broome St. between Mercer Street and Broadway around 2:52 p.m., the FDNY told The Post.
Firefighters are still on the scene trying to extinguish the mixed occupancy loft, according to fire officials.
Smoke-eaters were seen putting out pockets of fire on the roof, according to photos the FDNY posted to X.
No injuries were reported, police said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Nearly two hours after the blaze erupted, New Yorkers were urged to find alternative routes with the fire creating traffic delays, mass transit disruptions and road closures in Lower Manhattan, officials said.
