Elvis Costello new music

The 2003 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee hasn’t lost a step.

As noted above, he dropped the six-disc “King of America & Other Realms” on Nov. 1, which spans 59 songs and clocks in at nearly four hours.

The collection starts with tracks from 1986’s “King of America’s” demo and recording sessions and features tracks as recent as a 2024 live version of “Brilliant Mistake.”

According to Variety, “the common thread in material drawn from the last four decades of work is that it was all recorded in America or done in a style that evokes Americana, much (but not all) of it done in conjunction with producer T Bone Burnett.”

Costello and Burnett are also set to release “The True Story of the Coward Brothers,” on Nov. 21. In the scripted comedy-musical audio series, they play brothers Howard and Henry Coward (which are pseudonyms they’ve used since the ’80s) and provide the score. Harry Shearer, Rhea Seehorn, Edward Hibbert, Stephen Root and Kathreen Khavari round out the ensemble.

“Always,” the lead single, can be heard here.
