Mike Francesa crushes ‘clown show’ Jets as season heads toward rock bottom after Colts loss

Mike Francesa hasn’t just seen enough of the Jets this year — he’s ready to begin sending most of the coaching staff to the unemployment line as things could get worse.

The legendary New York radio host crushed the Jets’ entire organization after an embarrassing loss to the Colts on Sunday, when they allowed struggling second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson to meticulously work his way down the field for a game-winning touchdown.

“Give me a break, this is a clown show,” Francesa said on the “Mike Francesa Podcast” on Sunday. “You got guys, the ones who know they’re not going to be here next year. Here, you watch what you get out of them.”

The Jets have several high-profile potential free agents in 2025, including pass rusher Haason Reddick, tackles Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses, cornerback DJ Reed, defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, tight end Tyler Conklin and safety Chuck Clark, among others.

And that’s not to mention Aaron Rodgers’ uncertainty.

Ulbrich further angered Francesa by saying the team’s Week 12 bye is coming at a good time since he can re-evaluate his team before they return Dec. 1 against the Seahawks.

“Good time for a bye? How about a good time for bye-bye? What do you mean, good time for a bye?” Francesa said.

“‘We’ll take a hard look.’ Take a hard look at what? Take a hard look at the want ads because you’re not going to be here next year.”

He added: “[Ulbrich] is so clueless. When I see him at halftime, it’s laughable.”

Francesa continued in the furious rant adding that the interim head coach was clueless for saying that the Jets got the running game going.

Breece Hall finished with 78 rushing yards, while the Jets tallied 91 total.

“The running game going? You had 27 yards rushing in the first half,” Francesa said. “When did you get the running game going in the first half? What game were you watching?”

Francesa also went after struggling Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner.

Gardner had another tough showing Sunday, particularly during the game-winning touchdown drive when wide receiver Alec Pierce beat him for a 39-yard gain.

Richardson went 20-of-30 for 272 yards with three total touchdowns (two rushing) in his first start since being reinstated as the starter.

“(Ulbrich) is so lost right now between trying to run the team and run the defense, which has gotten worse because you had (Robert) Saleh and Ulbrich running the defense,” Francesa said. “Now, you don’t have either one of them running the defense. It has gotten worse by the week. Today you scored 27 points, and you still lose.

“Again, Sauce Gardner is a huge culprit. I mean, what is he doing? When does he stop the nonsense and make a play? He hangs a safety net to drive there. He gets beat on a pump fake, leading to a 39-yard gain. Now he leaves (Aaron) Rodgers, who has to come back from behind, with no timeouts.”

“This is an embarrassment with talent. I can see Davante Adams looking around like, ‘What did I get myself into?’”

The 3-8 Jets have the 11th-easiest schedules left with just one game remaining against a team above .500 in the Bills on Dec. 29.

However, that may not mean much with the Jets having a one percent chance to make the playoffs, per ESPN.
