Die-hard New York Post fan saves covers declaring Trump’s presidential wins as keepsakes

A die-hard New York Post fan and loyal supporter of President-elect Donald Trump kept issues of the paper reporting his 2016 and 2024 White House wins — saying she predicted his groundbreaking two-time victory.

Ivelisse Diaz, 65, of North Bergen, NJ set aside a keepsake copy of The Post from Nov. 10, 2016,  featuring a historic cover that declared, “EVERYONE WAS WRONG!” next to Trump’s grinning face.

“I remember my inner voice say, ‘Hold on to this paper, there will be another one like it. He will be a two-term president,” said Diaz, a 65-year-old secretary, and native of the Dominican Republic.

“Now that the cycle has been completed, the papers are fun to keep. I would not throw them away!” she said.

Diaz — who buys the Big Apple’s favorite tabloid at Port Authority every weekday — also saved a copy of The Post from Nov. 6, 2024 with a cover proclaiming: “HE’S DON IT AGAIN.”

Back in 2016, Diaz knew Trump’s win was “a historic event” because he was “not a politician but a businessman, someone outside the establishment,” she said.

Despite many New Yorkers’ assertions that Trump’s first term was a political fluke, “I had every confidence that with sound fiscal policies, he would be re-elected [again] with a clean sweep.”

“I wasn’t surprised. I knew it was going to happen,” said Daiz, who likes Trump’s policies on the border and the economy. “The 2020 loss did not shake my confidence.”

Diaz said she loves The Post because it presents right-leaning ideas fairly, unlike most other New York City dailies.

“I hold conservative views and I have found both the [New York] Times and the New York Daily News have strong liberal bias. I don’t appreciate the slant. I can think for myself,” she said.

She liked that The Post’s coverage after Trump’s latest win was “a rather decent picture of his victory”  — rather than “making him a target of ridicule and fostering meanness,” she said.

“I felt we had already had enough of that,” she said.

Diaz predicts that, over the next four years, the US will have a thriving economy under Trump.

“Oh yes, we have four good years ahead… We have already had a good economy during his first presidency,” she said, adding she thinks Trump’s fiscal policies will help Americans of all classes.

“When the tides swell, all boats rise,” she said.
