Rebekah Vardy has taken a series of swipes at Coleen Rooney ahead of the latter’s I’m A Celebrity experience, in what is the latest instalment of the famous Wagatha Christie scandal.

The two women – wives of footballers Wayne Rooney and Jamie Vardy – cemented themselves in the culture history books in 2019 after Coleen, 38, claimed Rebekah, 42, was leaking posts made on her private  account to The Sun.

In response, Rebekah sued her former friend in a  libel trial, with the court finding during the  that Coleen’s statements were substantially true.

Now, as Coleen is set to jump into the I’m A Celebrity Jungle 2024 – for a reported £5million – Rebekah has given her thoughts on the wild news.

When asked by The Sun what she would like to see Coleen chomp on during the ITV show, Rebekah responded: ‘A penis. Or humble pie.’

When asked whether that was the worst thing Coleen had ever had in her mouth, Rebekah replied: ‘I don’t know. You have to look at her husband really, don’t you?’

Ouch.

Rebekah, who said she would 100% join the jungle if ITV called her up mid-season, went on to say: ‘I don’t say this to be nasty, I say this because it’s an opinion of mine. She likes to be the victim. She’s never liked me, we were never friends.’

The WAG – who confirmed she will be watching the ITV show – predicted Coleen will try to be the ‘mother of the camp’ and be ‘a bit boring’ until evictions started kicking in, when she thinks the star will ‘start dropping snippets of information’ to keep the public interested.

‘The abuse I endured and she sat back and allowed that to happen will never be forgiven, ever,’ said Rebekah citing death threats and online abuse following the Wagatha Christie fall out, while also maintaining that she wishes Coleen well in the jungle…

…Aside from the penis, and the fact she would vote her into challenges if voting costs were free (she doesn’t want to spend anymore on Coleen after legal costs).

When asked whether Coleen might follow in Rebekah’s footsteps and do Dancing On Ice after a I’m A Celeb stint, she replied: ‘Maybe. I think she always wanted my life.’

Through the Wagatha Christie court case, Rebekah was then ordered to pay a substantial portion of Coleen’s legal expenses and her own legal fees. While it’s unclear exactly how much she paid, it was estimated to be £3 million – a number Rebekah has now revealed is actually lower, without clarifying the cost.

The interview comes after it was claimed Rebekah had asked her lawyers to keep an eye on Coleen’s I’m A Celeb appearance in the jungle.

‘100% Rebekah will not be happy that Coleen is going on the show.’ Brand and culture expert Nick Ede told The Daily Mail. ‘She will be keeping her eyes and ears glued to the screen in case she can garner any nuggets from Coleen that could potentially defame her.’

Additional sources added ‘Vardy’s legal team will also be watching like hawks.’

Nick added that Coleen will be careful with her comments while in the jungle: ‘Coleen is a very private person so for her to agree to this will and to appear on the jungle producers will be wanting her to spill more beans about the Wagatha Christie case’.

‘She’s a very careful speaker so will be making sure she rehearses any answers to questions campmates may interrogate her on.

I’m A Celebrity airs on Sunday November 17 at 9pm.

Metro has contacted Coleen Rooney’s representatives for comment.
