A 73-year-old woman is in critical condition and police fear for her life.
A collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian has left a 73-year-old woman in critical condition, Montreal police report.
At 1:30 p.m., police received multiple phone calls concerning the collision on Gouin Blvd. W., near St-Charles Blvd., in the borough of l’Île-Bizard–Ste-Geneviève.
When the police arrived on the scene, they found the pedestrian on the ground. Police report she was conscious and injured to the upper body, then she was transported to hospital, where police “fear for her life,” said SPVM media relations officer Caroline Chèvrefils.
The driver of the vehicle is an 18-year-old woman and was not injured, police said.
According to preliminary information, the driver was going west on Gouin Blvd., then turned left onto St-Charles Blvd. going south, which is when the impact would have occurred with the pedestrian who was crossing at the intersection.
The scene of the collision has been taped off for the unit investigators to analyze the scene and try to understand the exact circumstances of this collision.
Investigators were on their way to the scene as of 4:10 p.m., and police say the investigation is continuing.
