Noughties rockstars Linkin Park have delighted fans with their brand new album – their first in seven years – with fans already giving it ’10/10′.

The American rock band, formed in 1996, were one of the biggest acts of the 2000s, with their debut album Hybrid Theory selling 32 million copies worldwide.

At the forefront of the turn of the millennium nu metal movement, Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda became two of the most recognisable frontmen in pop music.

The What I’ve Done hitmakers remained popular through the rest of the 2000s and early 2010s, releasing more successful albums and recording songs for several prominent movie soundtracks.

In 2017, Bennington tragically took his own life at the age of just 41, and the band went on an indefinite hiatus, with no plans to reunite any time soon.

That all changed earlier this year when the band returned with a new lead singer – Emily Armstrong – and teased a brand new album, titled From Zero.

From Zero dropped on Friday, November 15, and Linkin Park fans were relieved and in a celebratory mood when From Zero turned out to be exactly what they’d been waiting for.

A return to their nu metal and rap rock roots of the early 2000s, it’s been welcomed positively by the band’s long-term fans, who’ve been there through a lot.

@Medical-Saldot5644 said: ‘It’s a 10/10 for me, no filler songs, just bangers. It’s their best since [2003 album] Meteora, in my opinion. It’s peak!’

Concurring, @Nickatator3 commented: ‘Very much a melting pot album and great return. Really loved Emily’s softer songs to be honest, she really shines on them.’

@JabbaJake beamed: ‘Absolute banger of an album. No skips for me! Haven’t loved an album this much in a long time. My god.’

While @BaileyRae said they were ‘blown away by this album,’ adding: ‘They really exceeded my expectations. It feels so surreal that we have a new Linkin Park album, and I’m so happy that it’s so good!’

Amid the celebrations, some fans did confess that, while they enjoyed it, they did feel as though the band had understandably played it safe with their first new album in nearly a decade.

@Salt-Delay-31 said: ‘I am going to be honest. Something is missing. Kudos to LP for their comeback – I can’t help but wonder what Chester would sound like with his vocals on this album. I need to process, but still a fan.’

‘I think it’s a good album but not as amazing as everybody else is saying, in my opinion,’ @Ninjja09 commented, while @MarioKing1137 said: ‘I still love the band, and I can probably warm up to a few more songs, but as of right now it isn’t for me.’

The album is expected to perform well on both the UK and US charts, with their previous album – 2017’s One More Light – still hitting one million sales in the US.

This week, Linkin Park confirmed the From Zero World Tour, which will see the band – featuring Mike Shinoda, Dave Farrell, Joe Hahn, Emily Armstrong, and Colin Brittain – play dates in North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

A Wembley date has been confirmed for June 28, 2025, leaving the Friday and Sunday slots at Glastonbury open – could a Pyramid Stage set be on the cards?
