Rita was born in Canada to parents Kathleen and Percy Carrey. She was one of four children, including Jim, John and Patricia.
Rita worked as a radio host and a public speaker for years, along with performing in a classic rock band.
Brian Salmon, Rita’s former radio co-host at 91.7 Giant FM, also paid tribute, calling Rita a tremendously generous person, per TMZ.
Salmon reminisced on how Rita rarely talked about her Hollywood connections, but would often collect props from Carrey’s movies to auction off to charity.
