Robot dogs have been standing watch at President-elect Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home ever since he won the US election.
A robotic guard was spotted on at least two occasions patrolling the outside of Trump’s resort, in a gesture of heightened security after Trump survived two assassination attempts.
Two days after the election, a white and black robotic dog was captured on video walking along a path and lake at the Palm Beach residence near a Secret Service agent dressed in blue.
Robotic dogs are ‘Secret Service assets’, according to the agency’s chief of communications, Anthony Guglielmi.
‘Safeguarding the President-elect is a top priority,’ he told USA Today on Friday.
‘While we cannot get into the specific capabilities, the robotic dogs are equipped with surveillance technology, and an array of advanced sensors that support our protective operations.’
