Prince Harry is struggling to fully turn the page and move on with his life in California, according to a royal expert.
Despite being far removed from the royal lifestyle these days, the Duke of Sussex has been doing “a fair amount of looking back” at his old life, according to The Sunday Times royal editor, Roya Nikkhah.
After quitting as a senior member of the Firm in 2020, Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, moved to the US in search of privacy.
As a result, the couple were stripped of tax-funded private security, which Harry has been fighting to win back ever since.
“He’s got various court cases still ongoing here,” Nikkhah told Fox News. “I think we may see him back at the beginning of next year, which sort of pulls him back into an old bit of his life that was very difficult for him.”
“But he loves his family life out in the States. He’s thrilled to be a dad,” she said,
“I suppose for him, it’s just finding a role, a really meaningful role going forward,” Nikkhah said, adding that Harry, 40, hopes to continue the Invictus Games — which he founded in 2014 — for years to come.
“I think for him going forward, it’s [finding] a meaningful world for himself living out in the States on the global stage,” she went on.
“Being a humanitarian is what he says he wants to be. I think that’s what he will probably look to focus on for the next few years — how he builds that profile as a humanitarian.”
The Post has reached out to Harry’s reps for comment.
Indeed, Harry has admittedly been “at a crossroads” with his work in recent weeks, as he mentioned himself in a newly released video with Markle, 43.
The pair made a joint appearance in a video in which they discussed prioritizing children’s safety online through their Archewell Foundation.
It was the first time they were seen together in months, amid reports that their professional relationship is “in a very bad state.”
In September, Nikkhah wrote in her initial report for The Times that Harry’s “transition into the celebrity prince of California” meant that he no longer boasted a friendship with his brother, Prince William.
According to the royal expert, the feuding brothers’ relations are “almost certainly beyond repair” as Harry seems torn “between battling old demons and getting on with his life.”
“All he does is spend time looking back,” Harry’s former adviser told Nikkhah at the time. “If only he could wrench his neck around and look forward.”
