Patrick Mahomes said he was disappointed about a burglary that took place at his Belton, Mo. estate, just after midnight on Oct. 6.
“I mean, obviously it’s frustrating,” the Chiefs quarterback said during a press conference on Wednesday. “It’s disappointing. … Obviously something that you don’t want to have happen to really anybody, but obviously yourself.”
Mahomes, 29, explained he could not discuss details about the incident as a police investigation is ongoing.
It’s unclear if the three-time Super Bowl champ and his pregnant wife, Brittany Mahomes, their daughter Sterling, 3, and son Bronze, 1, were home at the time of the break-in.
TMZ obtained Cass County Sheriff’s Office documents and broke the news on Tuesday — including that Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s home was also broken into in the Kansas City area on Oct. 7.
According to police documents, $20,000 in cash was taken from Kelce’s home, and his back door was damaged.
The burglary at Kelce’s home occurred just after 7:33 p.m. — while the NFL star was at Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs’ “Monday Night Football” game against the Saints. The Chiefs won 26-13.
Kelce and his girlfriend Taylor Swift stayed at a hotel in downtown Kansas City hotel that night, TMZ reported, adding that the couple’s security “wasn’t playing around” after the break-in.
Kelce has yet to address the situation publicly.
The FBI is working with local authorities on probes into both cases, according to TMZ.
Mahomes and Kelce haven’t let the burglaries rattle them on the field, as the Chiefs are the NFL’s last undefeated team in the 2024 season.
