Yankees vs. Dodgers player props: World Series Game 5 picks, predictions, odds

On Tuesday, the Bronx Bombers avoided a sweep with a dominant 11-4 victory over the Dodgers to force a Game 5 in the World Series

If momentum in baseball is the next day’s pitcher, then the Yankees are in a decent spot with their ace, Gerrit Cole, slated to take the mound.

Wednesday’s matchup will be a rematch of Game 1, as the Dodgers will counter with Jack Flaherty.

The Los Angeles right-handed pitcher scattered four hits through five innings of shutout ball until Giancarlo Stanton launched a 412-foot home run to left field.

Just before the pitch, Flaherty appeared uncomfortable while trying to shake out his right leg. He later reported some tightness in his hamstring, although the Dodgers believe it to be a minor issue.

Nonetheless, the Yankees will view this opportunity to get back into the series as an opportunity to make their player props extremely attractive for Game 5.

Dodgers vs. Yankees props: Juan Soto Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-120, BetMGM)

Soto snapped a 0-for-6 skid in his final at-bat on Tuesday by lacing a double to right field.

That extra-base hit came just in time as he gets set to face Flaherty again.

The Yankees slugger went over this prop with one swing against Flaherty in the series opener when he hit a solo home run to right field.

Soto later added a single in the ninth inning to finish with two hits on the day.

It’s unlikely for a hitter of Soto’s quality to endure long stretches of a slump.

He’s exceeded this prop in five of his previous six games, 15 of his last 20, and nine of 17 head-to-head meetings against the Dodgers.

With temperatures in the low to mid-60s and wind gusts of six to eight mph out to left field, the conditions should be perfect for a slugger like Soto to drive the ball and have a good day at the plate.

Dodgers vs. Yankees props: Alex Verdugo Over 0.5 Total Bases (-140, bet365)

There’s no place like home for Verdugo, as the Yankees left fielder has successfully reached base via a hit in seven straight games at Yankee Stadium.

As a result, it’s not entirely surprising that bookmakers are now juicing this prop as high as -150 at some books.

However, a closer look reveals that bettors have been highly profitable backing Verdugo in this spot over the last few seasons.

Verdugo recorded at least one base knock in 66% of his 2023 home games (47 of 71) and in 59% of his 2024 home games (47 of 80).

He’s eclipsed this line in nine of his past 10 home games and 16 of his prior 20.

He’s also eclipsed this line in eight of his past 10 head-to-head meetings with the Dodgers.

Verdugo is also 2-for-6 in his career against Flaherty.

Dodgers vs. Yankees props: Freddie Freeman Under 0.5 Strikeouts (+145, BetMGM)

Even in a loss, Freeman still managed to get into the MLB record books.

He became the first player to homer in the first four games of a World Series and also broke George Springer’s record of five straight games with a home run in the Fall Classic.

Freeman is seeing the ball exceptionally well and looks fully recovered from the ankle injury that plagued him earlier in the postseason.

The Dodgers first baseman had roughly a week of rest after the Dodgers won the pennant and has yet to strike out in the World Series.

He didn’t take long to reach base when he swatted a triple in his first at-bat against Cole in Game 1.

Let’s hope he can keep the streak alive for one more game.
