Dennis Bergkamp’s daughter has delighted Arsenal fans after being spotted in the latest custom leather jacket from fashion designer Antonia Bronze.
Yasmin Bergkamp, 22, was pictured wearing it at the Emirates after her dad – an Arsenal legend – was a special guest for Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Liverpool.
The jacket is a tribute to the much-loved 2005-06 Arsenal home shirt, which was worn during the club’s final season at Highbury before they moved stadiums.
That shirt was famed for a redcurrant colour, much darker than their traditional shade of red, which looked almost maroon or burgundy to the untrained eye.
The jacket worn by Bergkamp’s daughter is the same redcurrant colour – and like the 2005-06 home shirt – it featured shades of gold and the iconic ‘O2’ sponsor.
Fashion designer Bronze, who has also created jackets for Gabriel Magalhaes’ wife and Bukayo Saka’s partner, posted on Instagram: ‘I received a super exciting email from Yasmin.
‘She wanted to transform the iconic 2005-06 home shirt into a leather jacket. There was a lot of thought and consideration that went into all the details.’
The Arsenal badge has been placed centre of the jacket with the word ‘HIGHBURY’ written in block capitals above it and ‘1995-2006’ underneath.
Those years reference the years her father spent at Arsenal as he made 422 appearances, won three Premier League titles and clinched three FA Cups.
‘Some things never change,’ Bergkamp’s daughter wrote on Instagram as she posted the photo of herself wearing Bronze’s jacket.
Her dad left a comment of a heart-eyes emoji and a red heart, clearly giving the fashion item his seal of approval.
Bergkamp’s daughter also posted a series of images on TikTok which showed off the back of the jacket, with the vintage Arsenal badge seen right at the top.
‘From the choice of vintage badges to the to the placement of the Arsenal badge in the centre, I was determined for it to be true to the original shirt,’ Bronze added.
‘I also included DB10 and the date of Bergkamp’s unforgettable goal against Newcastle in 2002. And of course, I included the years he played at Highbury. I feel so proud and blessed to have been asked to make this piece.’
Arsenal fans are loving the new one-off fashion item with one supporter, @princefxbian, writing on Instagram: ‘Damn I want this jacket. My favorite jersey from that era as a jacket!’
‘SHUTTTT UPPP AND TAKE MY LIFE SAVINGSSS,’ @onsteroidss said on X while a third fan, @fiercelessly, added: ‘This is gorgeous. Oh my.’
