Pixies announce 2025 tour, two Brooklyn concerts. Get tickets now

Pixies are doubling down in 2025.

Starting in June, the surf punk pioneers will embark on a North American summer tour where they play two unique concerts in each city they visit.

At each first show on the run, the quartet will perform their classic 1990 album “Bossanova” and 1991’s “Tromp Le Monde” cover to cover. Night two gigs will reportedly consist of the band’s greatest hits — we’re guessing “Where Is My Mind,” “Monkey Gone To Heaven,” “Debaser,” “Here Comes Your Man” and “Gigantic” will likely make the set list — along with tracks from their 2024 record “The Night The Zombies Came.”

And, yes, Pixies are coming to New York.

Midway through this ambitious nationwide trek, Black Francis, Joey Santiago, David Lovering and Emma Richardson are scheduled to bring their traveling two-night extravaganza to the newly opened Brooklyn Paramount on Tuesday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 16.

Kurt Vile and the Violators will serve as support at all shows on the summer jaunt.

Five months before the double album/greatest hits excursion gets underway, Black Francis is heading out on a solo run of his own celebrating the 30th anniversary of his 1994 album “Teenager Of The Year.” That tour swings into Brooklyn Steel on Saturday, Feb. 1.

Pixies new music

On Oct. 25, Pixies put out their ninth studio album “The Night The Zombies Came.”

The polished 13-track record is a bit more on the mournful side than their wild-eyed earlier efforts but that isn’t to their detriment; the subdued maturity on display here is a welcome change of pace from the anarchic elder statesmen.

If you haven’t checked out “TNTZC,” we’d implore you to try the hypnotic call and response “Jane (The Night The Zombies Came),” twinkly, stargaze-ready “Chicken” and muscly rocker “Oyster Beds” which sounds like prime Pixies.

To find the song that most suits you, you can find “The Night The Zombies Came” in its entirety here.

Kurt Vile

As noted above, the 43-yea-old lo-fi indie icon is handling opening duties at each and every show.

For the uninitiated, you can’t go wrong with his jangly “Pretty Pimpin,” laid back “Wakin on a Pretty Day” or bluesy “Loading Zones.”
