Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have received a transfer window boost after Sporting Lisbon dramatically reduced Viktor Gyokeres’ price tag.

The three English sides, along with Premier League champions Manchester City, are all fighting to land the Sweden international striker’s signature next summer.

It was reported that Gyokeres had a €100m (£83m) release clause in his Sporting contract but fresh reports indicate that a new agreement has been put in place.

Gyokeres has now been told he can leave Sporting for a fee between €60m (£49.9m) and €70m (£58.20), according to Sky in Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.

The 26-year-old has been in remarkable form this season, conjuring up 12 goals and an assist across just nine games in the Portuguese top-flight.

Last term, Gyokeres scored 43 times and provided 15 assists across 50 games in all competitions, establishing himself as one of the most-wanted strikers in world football.

Speaking in September, Gyokeres admitted that his €100m release clause was ‘probably a bit too much’ and was likely to put off potential buyers.

‘They (Sporting) wanted most of the starting players to stay and held us tight,’ Gyokeres told Swedish outlet Aftonbladet.

‘It was probably a bit too much because nothing came of it. Of course it’s a lot of money. But that’s what Sporting thinks I’m worth, and then you have to respect that.’

Gyokeres has been with Sporting since 2023 after he joined them from English second-tier side Coventry City.

The Sky Blues, who compete in the Championship, had Gyokeres for two years after recruiting him from Brighton in 2021.

Meanwhile, former Gunners defender Bacary Sagna recently told that he would love Arsenal to win the transfer race for Gyokeres.

‘He’s amazing,’ Sagna said. He’s a pure striker who would offer some depth. He’s also quite tall so whenever the team are out wide, they can cross the ball a bit more and that’s been missing a bit for me.’
