Mike Francesa eviscerates Jets for ruining Aaron Rodgers: ‘Turned him into a bum’

The Jets have ruined Aaron Rodgers if you ask Mike Francesa.

That’s at least the way New York sports talk legend opined on his podcast after another loss for the Jets, this time at the hands of the Patriots.

Francesa went off on the Jets at one point saying that the franchise would have found a way to get Hall of Famer Jim Brown and would have turned him into a “third-down back.”

“I’ve come to the conclusion that isn’t Aaron Rodgers,” Francesa started off saying. “It’s somebody else in that body. This has all been another bad trick. I’ve come to the conclusion that if the Jets had traded for Jim Brown in his prime that they would have made him a third down back. They could ruin any player!”

Rodgers finished Sunday’s 25-22 loss to the Pats with 233 passing yards on 17 completions and two touchdown passes.

It was the fewest passing yards in a game that Rodgers has thrown since the Jets lost to the Broncos on Sept. 29 and Rodgers threw for 225 yards.

“I didn’t think you could ruin Aaron Rodgers! They have!” Francesa screeched as he continued his rant. “They’ve turned him into a bum. And these head coaches, they cut to the offensive coordinator [playcaller Todd Downing] and he looked like he was waiting for a bus.”

At one point Francesa burst into laughter as he continued to dig into the Jets for their latest loss.

The 2024 season has quickly hit critical mass after the latest loss moved the Jets to 2-6 on the season and put them at the same record as the lowly Patriots after seven weeks of the season.

“The NFL is hard,” Rodgers lamented after the game. “It’s hard to win. Harder when you make it difficult on yourself. Offensively we can’t worry about what else happens. We’ve got to be efficient. We’ve got to make the most of the opportunities. Again, there was yards left out there, opportunities left out there. Can’t leave it up to — we’ve got to score touchdowns.
